First Moments in Heaven: Shattered Relationships
Soul, when you first wake in Heaven I think you’ll sense a fragile satisfaction at being in a good place. You’ll remember the unbending loyalty you lived for: rightness, sweeping adherence to pure thought, utopic ideals, moral clarity…the steps you climbed to be in Heaven.
But as your mind reaches to touch each stair, it puffs away like an ash sculpture.
I don’t think you’ll be able to panic in Heaven, but you’ll feel unease, confusion, remorse…and eventually, relief. Too often you held fast to ideals that seemed right, radical for Jesus, but were really only rigid reflections of Reality’s remnants.
But now, now you see specks and planks in something infinitely more extreme andungraspable. You rightly rejected a floating, bending, feckless whateverness, a flaccid middleness of ideals and principles. No… now you’ll see the True Reality of extreme grace, extreme truth, extreme freedom and extreme predetermination, change and predictability, remaining and forgetting….God. Incomprehensible. Antinomic truths.
Anything you held rigidly was soot… except Jesus. Now you have eternity to explore the extremes, puny streams, but flowing through God’s love.
God.
